ESG Strategy and Operations

Brian Finch is Vice President for ESG Strategy and Operations at Mastercard and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, where he is responsible for accelerating performance on environmental, social, and governance issues and other strategic initiatives.

Brian is a creative, results-driven change agent with experience leading social impact initiatives in the government, private and nonprofit sectors. Previously, Brian was Director of Business Transformation at AmeriCorps, where he led a significant modernization initiative at the 25-year-old federal agency to prepare it for another generation of impact in communities across the country. Prior to that, Brian founded and served as Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at the Greater Washington Partnership, an action-oriented civic alliance of CEOs from leading employers and entrepreneurs in the Baltimore-to-Richmond super-region, focused on addressing issues for the public good.

Prior to his time in the public and non-profit sectors, Brian served as Executive Director for Corporate Social Responsibility and Global Philanthropy at JPMorgan Chase & Co.  In this position, he helped create and direct the Global Cities Initiative: A Joint Project of Brookings and JPMorgan Chase, a multi-year effort that worked with leaders in more than 35 U.S. and international metropolitan areas to implement strategies to leverage trade and investment for job creation and economic growth.  Earlier in his career, Brian led the company’s legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts in several U.S. states including California.

Brian received his BA from Georgetown University and his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.  He resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife Lori and three daughters.
