David Eichberg

ESG Strategy

David Eichberg is Mastercard’s Vice President, ESG Strategy, responsible for developing innovative strategies, thought leadership, and differentiating policies across a range of Mastercard’s environmental, social and governance issues.

David has over two decades of experience in the corporate sustainability space. Prior to Mastercard, David worked at HP Inc, where he led climate strategy, sustainability goal setting and metrics reporting, and ESG assessment programs that positioned HP as leader in corporate sustainability and helped attract, win and retain business.

He has led programs for sustainability valuation, social investment, communications, technology and thought leadership showcases, and strategic collaborations with non-profit and NGO partners such as Conservation International, NBA Cares and the World Wildlife Fund.  Previously, David worked at Business for Social Responsibility, Applied Communications and the U.S. Congress Office of Technology Assessment. 

He holds a Master’s degree in public and international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.  David serves on the board of directors of the Idaho Conservation League.
