Karem Coronel

Strategy

Karem Coronel is the Director of Strategy at the Center for Inclusive Growth, where she supports the advancement of the Center’s social impact strategy, management of the Mastercard Impact Fund and promotion of philanthropic leadership and contributions across Mastercard.

Karem comes to the Center with 14 years of experience across the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Previously, Karem worked as a consultant focusing on increasing market share for financial, manufacturing and healthcare clients. Prior to that, she worked at Univision, managing research on the Latinx financial consumer to create tailored financial products, services and education in support of financial inclusion and financial wellness. Karem began her career in corporate responsibility at Assurant, integrating the company’s charitable giving and community efforts to maximize impact.

She holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Sociology from Dartmouth College and an M.A. in International Development, Children and Youth from the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam. As a continual learner, she has also pursued graduate certification in Learning Design and Technologies from the Harvard Extension School and in Foresight from the Futures School. 

In her free time, Karem enjoys peer coaching, dance, practicing mindfulness and volunteering with youth education and animal rescue organizations. Karem was recently named to the Council on Foundations’ Career Pathways 2022 spring cohort.
