This report highlights takeaways after meeting with small firms (1-20 employees) in Indonesia weekly over the course of one year to understand their financial lives in detail. Some findings reveal that small firms (1) represent an 'invisible middle' different from microenterprises and larger firms, straddling the line between formal and informal; and (2) are looking for growth, but with stability.
